Jazz in Poland is a new festival network curated by Grzech Piotrowski — saxophonist, producer and founder of the international project World Orchestra.
The 2020–22 pandemic destroyed a substantial part of the global music market. In most cases, artists were left with nothing — no help from governments, labels, managements, cultural institutions or rights organisations. This drove a literal collapse of artists, festivals and clubs, and a burnout of the market itself.
Only the strongest remained on stage. The world dislikes a vacuum — that empty space is now being filled by a group of fiercely determined music makers and event creators. The connective tissue of this new "Human Music" movement is the Jazz in Poland platform, binding music, artists, live events and listeners into a single whole.
“One ticket. One full season. Ten stages.”
“In an age of advancing artificial intelligence, artists must think and act outside the box. In my view, the model of producing, selling and promoting jazz worldwide that existed before the pandemic is completely outdated and inadequate to today's realities — where every artist can carry the tools of global promotion in their own phone. We see more and more social-media projects appearing out of nowhere, exploding like a supernova without the help of global corporations or managers.
On the other side of social media, we see the rise of AI-generated music and a market flooded with projects that don't exist in real life. This is driving the growth of the "Human Music" concept and a huge demand for direct contact between listener and living artist. Human imperfection has become a value today, and the arts sector is seeing a steady rise in audience interest in real, live art. We're meeting that need from both sides — artists and listeners — by building a network of the most interesting festivals and concert series in Poland.”
